The Flagship Day
“Flagship Day”, the prime and the foremost session of “Are You Ready? 2015”, was held on 11th of December at the University premises in collaboration with Career Guidance Unit of the University. The session brought the final year undergraduates of University of Moratuwa before the renowned companies of the island who interviewed the undergraduates for recruitment. Flagship day was a massive success with over 950 participating undergraduates and an approximate 60 companies.
The Flagship kicked start with the opening ceremony held with the presence of distinguished guests of University of Moratuwa: the chief guest Vidya Jothi Prof. K.K.Y.W. Perera, the guest of honor the Vice Chancellor: Prof. A.K.W.Jayawardane: the Head of the Career Guidance Unit, the Deans of the Faculty of Engineering Prof.U.G.A.Puswewala, Faculty of IT Mr.D.K.Withanage, Faculty of Architecture Prof. P.K.S.Mahanama. Furthermore General Manager (HR) of DIMO Engineering PLC also graced the occasion as guest of honour.
The Flagship Day gave entrepreneurs and potential employers all over the island a great opportunity to identify and recruit the cream of the young talented candidates for their companies. At the close of a long and busy day, success and hopefulness was written on every face of interviewers and interviewees both. Behind every success of the day was the commendable effort made by the Co-Chair persons Rtr.Bhanuka Abeygoonawardana, Rtr. Chirath Hettiarachchi, the company coordinator Rtr.Waruna Rasanga with the fellow club members.
