30 Years, One Heartbeat: 30th Charter Day & December General Meeting

December 18th, 2025 marked an important milestone for the Rotaract Club of University of Moratuwa as we celebrated our 30th Charter Day along with the December General Meeting at ENTC Hall 01. The atmosphere in the hall was excited and proud, with Rotaractors and guests coming together to celebrate three decades of service, leadership, and friendship.

As one of the Co-Chairpersons, along with Sheron Jananu and Piyumal Chandrarathne, this project meant a lot to me. From planning to execution, it was a journey filled with nervous moments, pressure, and a few challenges along the way. There were times when things felt overwhelming, but seeing everything slowly come together on the day of the event made it all worth it.

One of the most meaningful moments of the night was the anniversary cake cutting. It wasn’t just a celebration it felt like a small tribute to everyone who had contributed to the club over the past 30 years. The evening became even more enjoyable with the musical entertainment item, where a few songs helped create a relaxed and happy vibe in the hall.

We were also honored to listen to several important speeches by our President, Ranga Rodrigo, our Senior Treasurer, and our Academic Advisor. Their words reflected the journey of the club and reminded us of the values that Rotaract stands for.

With a crowd of 50+ Rotaractors and guests, the event felt warm, excited, and closely connected. By the time the program came to an end, I felt a big sense of relief and pride because despite all the small difficulties, we managed to deliver a smooth and meaningful celebration.

The 30th Charter Day & December General Meeting was not just another meeting or event. It was a moment to look back at our roots, appreciate our present, and move forward with a stronger sense of unity as a club.
